Species conservation is a key concern for Procon-Grumbach. We are actively involved in numerous projects and partnerships dedicated to the conservation of endangered species. Our incubators are used worldwide to support the breeding of endangered species and make a valuable contribution to biodiversity, particularly in the context of ex situ measures and international species conservation programs.
The roots of Grumbach incubators
The Grumbach incubator brand was founded in 1982. From the outset, the focus was on developing high-quality incubation technology for poultry, ornamental birds, and reptiles. The devices impressed with their durability, precision, and ease of use, and quickly became popular among breeders and clubs.
The history of Procon Automatic Systems
Procon Automatic Systems GmbH & Co. KG was founded in Mücke in 1994. From the outset, the company specialized in automation technology, switch cabinet construction, and electronic control systems for agriculture, industry, and special applications.
As a system partner of Danfoss, Procon was an early adopter of leading technologies in drive and control engineering. The combination of control cabinet construction, automation solutions, and in-house development created a technical foundation that goes far beyond standard solutions.
Technological connection
Procon Automatic Systems developed the first electronic controls for Grumbach incubators back in the late 1990s. Thanks to this automation, temperature, humidity, and turning cycles could be controlled digitally and with high precision for the first time. This step was a breakthrough and made Grumbach devices a benchmark in zoos, research institutions, and species conservation projects worldwide.
Merger to form Procon Grumbach
In 2017, Procon Automatic Systems acquired the Grumbach incubator brand in its entirety. Since then, both companies have been operating under the joint umbrella of Procon Grumbach.
The in-house development department is now at the heart of innovation, where new control systems, modern sensor technology from the medical sector, internet-enabled platforms, and software solutions are developed. The company's own switch cabinet construction ensures that the systems are modular, durable, and precisely tailored to customer requirements.
